Beginning in and round about Chattanooga Tennessee and ending officially in Florence Alabama, at McFarland Park. This ride
has had up to approx 80,000 riders on Saturday; now thats a lot of visitors coming in at one time!
The un-official ending of the ride which is not sanctioned, but visited by many bikers, is the very tiny town of Waterloo
that can only be reached by 25 mile twisting 2 lane blacktops. There's camping sites, full hookup and primitive right on
the banks of the river. But a warning to the wise: this place can get badly over crowded and dangerous due to traffic congestion
and curiosity seekers in automobiles. If you want to leave from there in a hurry on Saturday, you may as well hang that idea
up. I suggest getting in on a "Motorcycle Forum" that deals with "rides" and events and get some info other than mine about
Waterloo if you are a 'Doubting- Thomas'.

First rule of thumb is to make reservations at motels, campgrounds or bed & breakfast houses if you plan on staying over in
the Florence area. Thankfully motels, food and gas abound within a few blocks of the McFarland Park.
If you are new to this area its good to know and remember that there are 3 other cities adjoining Florence and the entire
4 city area is known as the Shoals.
There is a relatively new, Marriot, overlooking the river, the Renassiance Tower and the Wilson Dam and within walking distance.
There's several nice large city parks in the area and of course a couple of Walmarts if you can't get by without shopping.
Like most other areas, restaurants abound!

There is one Harley Davidson Dealership in the Shoals area, one Victory Motorcycle dealer, plus about 10 or more licensed
independent motorcycle shops (5 are actually H-D savvy), and only 2 would be willing to take your bike in and make it "an
emergency repair" ASAP.
There are a few Jap bike dealers; one Jap bike franchise dealer in fact, Longshore Cycle Center, is located just across from
the McFarland Park festivities; however, if your bike breaks down on Saturday evening, most repair shops are closed on Monday,
however one is open, and I can highly recommend, T&M Cycles 3922 Cloverdale Rd
Florence (Petersville), Phone (256) 768-3011.

NOTE: It would be advisable to visit the Florence Alabama website to learn more about the city's exact location, sights to
see as well as the motels .
* SPECIAL NOTICE
I would check out the weather at this area (35630)in advance of the ride and then come prepared for foul weather, as the conditions
here can change from a predicted sunny weekend to monsoon weather in 24 hours.
If I can be of any help, Email me well before the date of the ride, cause so many things change. I will also be happy to
give you driving directions into the area and a few short cuts that will eliminate a great deal of unneeded miles.
